In October 2005 all three wooden starclass hulls had been brought to the boat yard at Hamburg. The three stars, all of them in one corner of the boat yard, made a nice and impressive picture, which would make every
starclass lover’s heart beat faster. It looked like a tiny old starboat workshop of a time past long ago.
The first step was to strip the hulls from whatsoever remains - if still existing - of all old, medium and new fittings and to clean the hulls carefully. The gray cast iron fin keel, if still attached, was taken
off as well as the skeg.
After this process a detailed inspection of the hulls inside and outside could take place.
