Look at the nice “movie” by Erland Holmström, showing in a few seconds the history and evolution of the star rig over the decades.
Wouldn’t it be a real challenge to experience the feeling of our predecessors in star boat sailing with the large sliding gunter rig on this simple hull?
What will be the main differences? Will it be much slower than today’s state of the art rig and sails? Windward? Downwind?
Will the handling be more easy or more difficult than today?
Anyway, sailing with a boom exceeding the hull by more than a meter will be something new.
